Panel II Explores AIM-AHEAD’s Lasting Impact on Careers and Communities

On Wednesday, July 9, the second panel discussion of the 2025 AIM-AHEAD Annual Meeting focused on the long-term influence of AIM-AHEAD. Titled, "Panel II: Exploring AIM-AHEAD’s Long-Term Impact on Career/Community", the session brought together voices from across the AIM-AHEAD Consortium to reflect on how the initiative has shaped individual career paths and fostered meaningful community engagement. Panelists shared their personal journeys, lessons learned, and the ongoing impacts of AI training, mentorship, and research capacity-building.

The panel was hosted by Dr. Guodong "Gordon" Gao, Principal Investigator for the AIM-AHEAD Data Science Training Core and Co-Director of the AIM-AHEAD Program for Artificial Intelligence Readiness (PAIR). Dr. Gao is a Professor at the Carey Business School of Johns Hopkins University and Co-Director of the Center for Digital Health and AI. His research focuses on Big Data and AI in healthcare, health IT, and quality transparency, with support from NSF, NIH, and AHRQ. He is a recipient of the NSF CAREER Award.

Panelists included awardees and fellows from various AIM-AHEAD programs who reflected on their impactful experiences as both participants and graduates of AIM-AHEAD initiatives.
