Informational Webinars for the 2025–2026 AIM-AHEAD Training Programs Set New Engagement Records

Four AIM-AHEAD Training Programs closed applications for the 2025–2026 cycle on September 26, following record interest from prospective participants. Informational webinar registration totals for each program reached their highest levels yet, with over 1,500 total registrants across all programs.

AIM-AHEAD All of Us Training Program

Interest in the AIM-AHEAD All of Us Training Program grew significantly this year, with webinar registrants increasing by 278% from the Cohort 2 session. The 2025 Cohort 3 session had 627 registrants, of whom 329 individuals attended the live webinar on September 11, 2025.  

The session was led by Dr. Toufeeq Syed, AIM-AHEAD MPI and Co-Director for the training programs, who also moderated a lively Q&A discussion. Featured speakers included Sydney McMaster, Team Lead for Research Engagement and Outreach at the NIH All of Us Research Program, and Dr. Megan Lewis, RTI Principal Investigator and Program Lead. Dr. Javan Carter, Lead Genomics Coach and Instructor at RTI, introduced the new Genomics Track, which will be offered to five selected trainees. Dr. Jonathan Holt, Machine Learning Coach and Instructor at RTI, outlined the program timeline and curriculum.

AIM-AHEAD Bridge2AI AI-READI Training Program

The AIM-AHEAD Bridge2AI AI-READI Training Program also observed a notable increase in interested applicants, with registration rising by 87% from the 2024 Cohort 1 webinar. This year, there were 148 registrants and a total of 98 participants attended the live webinar on September 8, 2025. 

The session was led by Dr. Toufeeq Syed and included presentations from Program Co-Director Dr. Linda Zangwill, who presented the three pillars of the Bridge2AI initiative and described the four Data Generation Projects, and Dr. Gordon Gao, Program Co-Director, who further discussed curriculum and training structure. Participants actively engaged in a robust Q&A session that addressed program objectives and opportunities.

AIM-AHEAD Bridge2AI for Clinical Care Training Program

The AIM-AHEAD Bridge2AI for Clinical Care Training Program also experienced a sizable increase in applicant engagement, with informational webinar registrants rising 302% from Cohort 1. Registrants totaled 169 for the Cohort 2 virtual session, and the live webinar on September 9, 2025, drew 96 attendees. 

The session was led by Dr. Toufeeq Syed and opened with remarks from Dr. Jamboor Vishwanatha, AIM-AHEAD Principal Investigator, who highlighted the impact of the inaugural cohort on advancing clinical care research. Dr. Eric Rosenthal, Co-Director of the program, introduced the Bridge2AI CHoRUS dataset and emphasized the program’s practical training model. Dr. Prabhjeet Singh, Project Manager at MedStar Health, discussed the curriculum and trainee objectives on behalf of Dr. Nawar Shara, AIM-AHEAD DSTC MPI and Co-Director of the program. The webinar closed with an engaging Q&A that explored training methods and dataset use.

AIM-AHEAD & NCATS Training Program

The AIM-AHEAD & NCATS Training Program recorded a drastic increase in engagement, with registrants growing a staggering 601% from the 2024 Cohort 2 webinar. The September 17, 2025, Cohort 3 webinar received 561 registrations and was attended by 272 participants. 

Dr. Toufeeq Syed led the session, presenting the program's objectives and requirements alongside Dr. Aubri Hoffman, Co-Director of the program and Director of Education and Capacity-Building Data Science at Axle Informatics. Dr. Hoffman reviewed the program timeline, explained the N3C Data Enclave registration process, and discussed key benefits for trainees. Participants also engaged in an interactive Q&A with program leadership.
