A Thanksgiving Message from AIM-AHEAD

As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, on behalf of the AIM-AHEAD Coordinating Center, the Communications Hub would like to take a moment to express our gratitude to the incredible leadership teams, stakeholders, and consortium members who comprise the AIM-AHEAD Community and reflect on our collective accomplishments throughout this year.

The dedication, innovation, and collaboration demonstrated across programs, hubs, and initiatives are the driving force behind our shared successes. Our continuous efforts to mentor and train emerging AI/ML researchers and clinicians, preparing them for the workforce, along with advancing health research through infrastructure and capacity-building initiatives, truly make a meaningful and lasting impact every day.

We also asked our regional AIM-AHEAD hubs to share what they are most grateful for this year:

This year, the Southeast-Morehouse Hub is grateful for the vibrant network of partners and communities driving our mission forward. We celebrate the completion of our first CLINAQ cohort and the growing fellowship of scientists leading AI innovation in healthcare. From expanding capacity across resource-limited institutions to empowering youth and community members, we are thankful for the trust, collaboration, and shared vision that continue to shape a greater future for AI and health across the Southeast.

This year, our West Hub team is grateful for the opportunity to work alongside AIM-AHEAD’s Executive Leadership and staff at UCLA’s Department of Medicine to help organize events such as the inaugural UCLA DOM LA Summit, which celebrated Los Angeles’ public health and community partnerships. At the summit, we engaged with representatives from academia, clinical care, and grassroots organizations on responsible AI-driven innovation, community engagement, and cross-sector collaboration. We are especially grateful to Chris Cabunag for facilitating a collaborative mural activity that highlighted the impact of attendees’ work and illustrated AIM-AHEAD’s engagement with LA communities, including the LA DHS Health Technology Navigators program and AI/ML educational sessions. Partnerships with leaders such as Stanley Bishop and Chaya Rusk opened doors for new cross-sector collaborations, strengthening AIM-AHEAD’s mission to advance community-centered innovation in AI and health.

We are thankful for the extensive contributions that make the AIM-AHEAD Consortium so impactful and for the meaningful work accomplished across the network this year. We hope this holiday provides a chance to rest, recharge, and reflect on these achievements.

Thank you for your continued commitment, expertise, and enthusiasm. We look forward to building on this momentum together and achieving even greater milestones as a community in the year ahead.
